Firework’s resident writer, and former women’s magazine journalist, Gail Titchener, has gone above and beyond the call of duty and committed to run The London Marathon next year to raise funds for Firework’s long standing charity client, Retrak.
A mum of three, Gail is a keen runner and already has a number of half marathons and races under her belt but is looking forward to the capital’s 26 mile challenge. She is already in training and can often be spotted pounding the streets of Hale bleary-eyed at the crack of dawn!
Headed up by ex Greater Manchester Police Constable, Sir Peter Fahy, Stockport based street kid’s charity Retrak believes every child deserves to live in a safe and secure environment and supports street children in Uganda and Ethopia.
Says Gail: “I was over the moon to get a place in next year’s London Marathon, and to run for Retrak makes it even more special. The work they do is so important, and having children of my own, I think it makes it resonate all the more. I am very much looking forward to helping further raise their profile – and much needed funds – over the next six months.”
